BK Heid värvar Ronja Gustafsson

BK Heid har gjort klart med en ny spelare inför den kommande säsongen. Ronja Gustafsson lämnar AIK och har skrivit på för Göteborgsklubben, det skriver Heid i ett pressmeddelande.

– Det ska bli fantastiskt kul och spännande att få chansen i Heid som ju är ett etablerat SHE-lag, säger Ronja Gustafsson i pressmeddelandet.

27-åringen spelade senast i AIK och är normalt sett högersexa, men kan även spela på högernio. Sin handbollsfostran fick hon i Huddinge, men det blir inte hennes första sejour i SHE. Den kom redan 2012–13 med Tumba, något hon följde upp med Spårvägen 2014–15. Nu blir det tredje säsongen i SHE, den här gången med BK Heid.

– En spelare som har mer att ge i högsta ligan, hon har massor av rutin och kan också användas på både sex och nio meter, säger Heids tränare Magnus Lindqvist.

EC: Ystad fyra mål efter AEK Aten

Ystads IF har ett tydligt underläge halvvägs in i finalspelet. AEK Aten utnyttjade fler anfallspositioner, YIF behöver dra ner på misstagen för att kunna gå för fullt och hämta in fyra bollar i returen.

European Cup innehåller ofta överraskande spelstilar och udda element för framgång. Atens pausledning över Ystad var dock inte speciellt svårförklarad. Efter den jämna upptakten hade hemmalaget både bättre procent i sina öppna lägen och fler räddningar i statistiken bakom sitt ryck.

Aten var också klart bättre i uppställt spel, med 11-5 på tavlan kom det första taktiska draget från Oscar Carlén då Niklas Kraft blev aktuell för comeback.

Ystad närmade sig i målvaktsmatchen kontra hemmalagets Thomas Bauer och mot slutet av halvleken syntes också rappare utkast och bättre samarbete framåt.

Jonathan Svensson avlossade ett par kanonavslut, Ludvig Hallbäck skötte sista passningen flera gånger om och 16–12 i paus var iallafall en signal om att bortalaget ville in i matchen.

Ystad bytte målvakt igen sju-åtta minuter in på andra halvlek och Oscar Jensen fick testa sig på distansskottet.

Försvarsmässigt var Joakim Hykkerud, linjemannen som Aten värvade lagom till EC-semifinalen, en lika stor del av bekymret.

Ystad hängde i mot sitt kvalificerade motstånd, fick med Jakob Nygren i målprotokollet medan Jim Andersson ökade tempot ute på kanten.

Med drygt tio minuter kvar hade gästerna knaprat in till 26–24. Några bortkastade bollar mot Atens utgrupperade försvar var dock allt som skulle till för att YIF:s reduceringsjakt skulle komma av sig.

Lagen bytte betydelsefulla mål i slutskedet och andra halvleken i dubbelmötet slutade lika. Returen spelas på söndag kväll då lagen är på banan på nytt i Aten.

IHF lecturer Huelin: ”I don’t know anybody that is happy”

Ramon Gallego has already decided to leave the IHF in protest to Hassan Moustafa and the presidents methods. But Gallego is not alone in this – IHF lecturer Tono Huelin has also decided to leave. In an interview with Handbollskanalen Tono Huelin talks about why he left the IHF and Hassan Moustafa and his methods.

Jose Antonio ”Tono” Huelin is a, to say the least, experienced person in the handball world. The Spaniard was a IHF referee for 21 seasons dating from 1987 to 2008 when we finished his career with officiating the Olympics in Beijing. Tono officiated 2 Olympics, 2 World Cups, 4 Euros and 2 EHF Champions League finals.

After his career as a referee Huelin started educating other referees and in 2009, only one year after his career ended, he became a IHF Rules of the Game Lecturer. Since then he has educated referees and worked as a technical delegate for the IHF and the EHF.

Until the day of his resignation he was one of the members of the New Rules Working Group, in which they were writing and designing the New Rule Books. In that group Ramon Gallego was the chairman. Two out of the five members in the group is not working with the IHF anymore.

The other day it got known that Tono Huelin had left the IHF and Handbollskanalen took contact with him to hear his side of it all.

Why did you quit all the positions related to the PRC board of instructors?

– This was an easy decision for me, despite we were so close to Tokyo 2020.  And the reason was of course in solidarity with the last lack of respect of the IHF President with Ramón, with this crazy and capricious decision of exclude him from the OOGG.  It was not because of this single fact, there were many other interferences before, but this was the one that overflowed the glass of patience.

– I share the same values than Ramon regarding referee independence of any kind of political pressure. This is the only way to empower the referees to be able to do a good job in their already very difficult task. So when the decision of the IHF president to exclude the leader of the referees out of the most important competition, I decided also not to be part of this polluted environment anymore.

Tono Huelin also says that Ramon and he are not alone in deciding to quit. Over the last two days two other persons has taken the same decision.

How much of your decision had to to with Ramon Gallegos decision?

– I would say that this was a decision taken at the same moment.  When he commented me the IHF’s decision, I told him, Ramón it’s time to leave this boat. There are certain limits of what can be tolerated.

What can you say about Hassan Moustafa and his methods?

– I don’t know anybody that is happy when he’s around. He has a dictatorial style, and whoever has a different opinion can’t express it due to the risk to be ”fired”.

Do you think that Hassan Moustafa should be allowed to continue as president for the IHF?

– This is a Congress responsibility. The President is elected every 4 years and as I far as I know there is not limitation of times to be a candidate.

– Personally I would like that anyone else with another profile could be elected. The IHF is a very important organization that deserves a modernization in the structures and procedures.

Ramon Gallego har redan sagt upp sig under uppmärksammade former. Även en av hans kolleger, Tono Huelin, har nu bestämt sig för att lämna IHF. I en stor intervju med Handbollskanalen berättar IHF-föreläsaren bland annat om varför han sa upp sig, hur det egentligen är att jobba för IHF och Hassan Moustafas metoder.

Jose Antonio ”Tono” Huelin är en minst sagt erfaren person inom handbollsvärlden. Spanjoren var en IHF-domare under 21 säsonger, från 1987 till 2008 då han avslutade domarkarriären med att döma OS i Peking. Tono dömde bland annat två OS, tre VM, fyra EM och två Champions League-finaler.

Efter karriären började Huelin att utbilda domare och 2009, endast ett år efter att han avslutat sin domarkarriär, blev han föreläsare med titeln ”IHF Rules of the Game Lecturer”. Sedan dess har Huelin utbildat domare och dessutom jobbat som delegat för IHF och EHF. Huelin var bland annat med som domarobservatör och delegat under OS i Rio 2016 och VM i Egypten 2021.

Utöver detta var Huelin en av medlemmarna i gruppen ”New Rules Working Group”, en grupp som skrev och designade nya regler. I den gruppen ingick även Ramon Gallego som ordförande – med andra ord har två av fem medlemmar hoppat av.

Häromdagen uppdagades det att även Tono Huelin hade hoppat av och Handbollskanalen tog givetvis kontakt med honom för att höra hans sida av det som hänt.

– I have never had the closest relationship with the president like Ramón had, the PRC chairman has often meetings with him, so I personally didn’t suffer similar experiences, but I have noticed how he treats people working for the IHF several times and it’s not a nice experience.

A lot have been said over the years regarding Hassan Moustafa and the IHF presidents methods. Tono Huelin doesn’t shy away from telling it like it is.

Hassan Moustafa became the president of the IHF in the year 2000 and seemingly has a firm grip over the organization. Tono Huelin wants to see a change in leadership.

Henning Fritz gör comeback – nio år efter keeperns karriärslut

SG Flensburg-Handewitt får in en veteran i det svåra skadeläget på målvaktssidan. Landslagsikonen Henning Fritz hade en aktiv karriär fram till sommaren 2012, nio år senare hjälper han Flensburg säsongen ut, meddelar klubben via sin hemsida.

Så sent som torsdag kväll jobbade Fritz som TV-expert när Flensburg mötte Rhein-Neckar Löwen i Bundesliga.

Situationen hos tabelltvåan är ansträngd efter Benjamin Burics skada och det blir överraskande nog 46-åringen som blir stöttepelare med rätt att spela i målvaktsteamet med Torbjörn Bergerud och U19-löftet Felix Backhaus.

Fritz gjorde 235 landskamper, vann VM-guld 2007 och tillhörde tre elitklubbar (SC Magdeburg, THW Kiel och Rhein-Neckar Löwen) under merparten av sitt målvaktsliv.

– Jag trodde inte att det var möjligt för mig att återvända till handbhollsmålet trots allt, säger Fritz till Flensburgs hemsida och beskriver formen för närvarande.

– Jag tränar flera gånger i veckan med crossfit och joggning, nu känner jag mig redo att understödja stödja SG under den här fasen av säsongen.

Flensburg har åtta matcher kvar i Bundesliga och jagar för att fånga in Kiel tre poäng högre upp i tabellen.

Ludvig Kroon Frisendahl flyttar till AIK

AIK:s division 1-satsning ändrar på målvaktssidan. Ludvig Kroon Frisendahl är klar som nytt namn i Solnalaget och lämnar därmed IFK Tumba i samma serie.

AIK:s hemsida bekräftar två övergångar på väg bort. Oscar Gustafsson hamnar i Sannadal medan Henrik Smedby får allsvensk framtid med Tyresö Handboll.

Hela laget har återtåg i sikte och Kroon Frisendahl är en erfaren pjäs som ska prägla AIK framöver.

– Ett välbehövligt tillskott på målvaktspositionen. Ludde kommer in med en hunger vi behöver och en rutin vi ibland har saknat, säger sportchefen Gustav Rydergård till klubbens hemsida.

– Det ska bli väldigt spännande att representera en av Sveriges största klubbar och en ära att få vara med i AIK familjen två år framåt. Jag trivs väldigt bra i gruppen och framförallt de målvakter som jag ska bilda ett team med, fyller Kroon Frisendahl på till klubbsajten.

Ystads IF har tagit sig till Grekland för att ta hem European Cup. Fredag och söndag är speldagar i finalduellen mot AEK Aten och båda drabbningarna tar plats i TV-tablån.

IK Sävehofs avancemang i Challenge Cup 2014 är den senaste svenska finalplatsen i EC-spelet. För sju år sedan vann Partillelaget dessutom titeln med schemastrul som en ingrediens.

Sävehof var på plats i Serbien när den första finalen ställdes in på grund av översvämningar. Det blev bara en match om guldet och Sävehof var skoningslöst, 37–26 hemma mot Metaloplastika Sabac.

Ystads resplaner har snarare störts av coronapandemin, i de två första omgångarna blev det bara hemmamatcher för att slå ut Vilnius och Tallinn.

I kvartsfinalens dubbelmöte var YIF nio mål bättre än Pölsa Serviti och vändningen mot Anorthosis Famagusta från minus två till plus fyra öppnade dörren till finalen.

AEK Aten har eliminerat kvalificerade konkurrenter som Gorenje Velenje. Kraftmätningen som väntar är också en formfråga, Ystad har inte spelat tävlingsmatch sedan slutet av april.

Aron Rafn Edvardsson tillbaka i moderklubben

En namnkunnig återvändare syns på nytt mellan stolparna i Haukar. Aron Rafn Edvardsson delar med sig av sin erfarenhet från EHF-cupslutspel med Eskilstuna Guif och tuffa, tyska uppgörelser och har tänkt sig tre år i moderklubben.

Edvardsson var en tillgång i Haukar redan 2008-13 och fick med sig ligatriumfer och cupguld på väg ut i karriären.

Eskilstuna Guif var ett lyckat delmål för tvåmetersmannen, via kvartsfinal i EHF-cupen och ett år i Ålborg hittade islänningen sedermera fram till den ligavardagen i Tyskland.

HSV Hamburg och senast SG BBM Bietigheim tackar för goda målvaktsår när Edvardsson vänder hemåt igen.

– Jag är glad att återvända hem till Haukar efter åtta års frånvaro, säger han till klubbens hemsida.

Haukartränaren Aron Kristjansson välkomnar rollspelare in i truppen:

– Vi är alltid stolta när vi skickar iväg spelare till proffsuppdrag. Därför är det mycket glädjande när kvalitetsspelare återvänder till klubben efter att ha varit utomlands.

– Han (Edvardsson) borde kunna dela sin erfarenhet till klubbens yngre spelare och stärka laget i vår titeljakt, säger Kristiansson till klubbens hemsida.

Ålborg och Bjerringbro-Silkeborg möts i finalen

Finalisterna i Danmark har aldrig gjort upp guldet sinsemellan tidigare. Ålborg HB tog näst sista steget via en tät duell mot GOG. Bjerringbro-Silkeborg avfärdade TTH Holstebro, bland annat tack vare att Johan Sjöstrand plockade fram keeperkompetensen.

Som Final Four-deltagare i Champions League var Ålborg förstås favorit till att nå den danska finalen. GOG bjöd upp till kamp med Viktor Hallgrimsson på räddningshumör och Mathias Gidsel i målform.

Svenskgalleriet i Ålborg styrde upp regin från tre måls underläge i första halvlek, Lukas Sandell bidrog till exempel med 16–16 precis innan paus.

Det skulle bli mer blågult närmare slutsignalen. Mikael Aggefors stod för ett sprakande inhopp och gjorde sin viktigaste räddning i semifinalserien med två minuter kvar. Han stoppade en straff och höll sedan tätt medan Felix Claar petade in 32–30 och Sandell passade fram till punkteringen, 33–30.

I den andra semifinalen spelade Bjerringbro-Silkeborg ut mot slutet och drog ifrån TTH Holstebro. Johan Sjöstrand lade grunden för segern med sammanlagt fem räddningar från matchminut 50 och in. Andra stöttepelare i BSH var åttamålsskytten Jacob Lassen och Sebastian Skube som levererade i alla lägen från mittnio.

Den första finalen i bäst av tre spelas 2 juni.

Bundesliga torsdag: Kiel ökade försprånget till Flensburg

Topplagen hade lite av varje att glädjas åt, Jerry Tollbring briljerade för Rhein-Neckar Löwen och Flensburg räddade iallafall en poäng. Allra mest nöjda var Kielspelarna, zebralaget har titeln i egna händer med sju matcher kvar att spela.

Hur man än vrider och vänder på torsdagssiffrorna var det framförallt en skjuts för THW Kiel som förstärkte förstaplatsen.

Niclas Ekberg var pålitlig från strafflinjen och nätade sammanlagt nio gånger. Totalt sett vann bortalaget bekvämt i Leipzig och har i nuläget tre poäng tillgodo i täten.

SG Flensburg-Handewitt må ha en match mindre spelad. Trots allt var det en dyrbar pinne som knäcktes med dålig utdelning före paus mot Rhein-Neckar Löwen. Niclas Kirkeløkke och Andy Schmid tog för sig hos gästerna och så hade RNL ett ständigt kanthot med Tollbring på språng.

Flensburg kvitterade flera gånger efter paus utan att få fingrarna på två poäng. Hampus Wannes 26 lika blev matchens sista mål och föranledde knappast något stort hemmajubel.

Magdeburgs Omar Ingi Magnusson skickade in en ny ansökan om skytteligatiteln. Islänningen tog hand om straffarna och mer därtill, 13 mål i bortasegern mot Tusem Essen. Marcel Schiller i Frisch Auf Göppingen har elva mål att gå på men kampen lär bli spännande under juni månad.

Ramon Gallego responds to the IHF

After Ramon Gallego decided to call it quits with the IHF in protest to IHF president Hassan Moustafa the IHF has responded with a statement on their website. Handbollskanalen has been in contact with Ramon Gallego who responds to parts of IHF:s statement.

You all probably know the story by now. Ramon Gallego, a well respected chairman of IHF:s Playing Rules and Refereeing Commission, quit his job in protest to Hassan Moustafa and the IHF presidents involvement in Gallegos work.

Gallego took offense to the fact that Moustafa after Swedens win against Egypt in January wanted to, without having any rules to support him, stop referees from officiating games where teams from the same region played. Moustafa wanted, for example, to stop Norwegian referees from being able to officiate Swedens games.

IHF has now come out with a statement that comments on Gallegos initial statement. One of the things that IHF writes is that the reason why they want to stop Norwegian referees from officiating Swedens games (as an example) is that they want to protect the referees from criticism relating to mistakes that can be perceived as biased.

IHF also writes that they have pointed out to Gallego several times that he is now allowed to appoint referees from the same region but that he has ignored these comments. They write that the appointment of Norwegian referees for the game between Sweden and Egypt was highly criticized by the public as well as the media.

Answer to IHF Statement resignation PRC Chairman_final

Handbollskanalen has been in contact with Ramon Gallego who says that he would like to respond the IHF this one time. After that he would like to put this whole story behind him so that the referees can focus on the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo.

Here are some of the parts that Ramon Gallego has chosen to comment on:

IHF writes:

”In his capacity as Chairman of the Executive Committee, IHF President Dr Hassan Moustafa informed and advised the PRC Chairman on several occasions not to engage referee couples from the same regions to officiate matches of the teams concerned, aiming not only to guarantee neutrality (despite the IHF’s trust in the neutrality of all IHF referees), but also to avoid any criticism, complaints or arguments for the referees and/or the IHF”.

Ramon Gallegos response:

– IHF is confirming the criteria that I wrote as unacceptable in my letter, that makes that any kind non-sporting criteria can influence in nominations. The affirmation that the IHF trust the neutrality of all IHF referees is contradictory with the other statement that there will be additional limitations for nominations. These additional limitation in only giving the message that the referees could be not neutral in all cases.

Moreover, the concept “region” doesn’t exist in the IHF Regulations. Accepting this criterion would be the recognition that the IHF referees are not neutral and whistle in favor of the team with their same region. We could say the same for the criteria of language. The language of the teams vs the native language of the referees can’t never be an excluding reason for a nomination. Would be also the language of the coaches, players, team officials etc. another reason for this exclusion? The common sense says no.

The IHF referees are honest and independent, they are only judges and nobody can put it in doubt. They should be allowed to whistle any kind of matches/teams except when his own national team is playing. In the Men’s World Championship EGY2021 there were no spectators, just the IHF guests and some voluntaries, then no sense to speak about the high critics of the public.

I believe that the complaint of the President of a national federation cannot be the reason to challenge the referee’s honesty. This door should be closed forever. If the IHF President considers the complaint from a related party of a match, is putting in danger the overall concept of referee’s integrity. Under that criteria every team losing a match would have an opportunity to influence in future referee’s nominations.

In the same WCh EGY2021, there were more “regional nominations” or for referees with the same language of any of the teams, i.e. couples from Europe, America, Africa and Asia were refereeing matches for the same “region”, and nobody made any complaint. Nobody doubted the referee’s performances. It looks like that the only relevant match was SWE-EGY.

IHF writes: 

”In the finals of major IHF events, the PRC Chairman used to consult with the COC Chairman on the nomination of the referees. However, at the 2021 IHF Men’s World Championship in Egypt, the PRC Chairman decided, without any consultation, to appoint the Spanish referee couple to officiate the final match”.

Ramon Gallegos response:

– In the 1st paragraph of the IHF statement, it is written that the PRC Chairman is free to appoint the referee couples for the respective matches of the IHF events concerned.

This statement regarding the COC Chairman is a bit odd, because he was not present at the World Ch EGY2021, because he was sick at home. Despite this fact, he was nominating the IHF Technical Delegates from home every day, and the referee’s nominations were shared also daily with him in the same document, to be sent together to the IHF Office staff for publication. This happened every day, including the nomination for the final day. Then this IHF statement is totally false. Since the day of the match SWE-EGY I informed every day to the President of the nominations, including the final weekend.

For the final day the two couples from CRO and ESP were pre-nominated for the gold and bronze matches, and the final decision would be depending on the teams concerned due to ESP was one of the teams qualified for semifinals.

IHF writes:

”Additionally, the PRC Chairman created a constant conflict with the European Handball Federation (EHF), which forced both IHF and EHF to convene mutual meetings to resolve the issues through mediation by their Presidents. Due to the PRC Chairman’s differences with IHF PRC Member Dragan Nachevski, the PRC Chairman did not consider top-level IHF referee Gjorgji Nachevski (Dragan Nachevski’s son) in his initial referee nominations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Afterwards, the PRC Chairman apologized for his inappropriate behavior and nominated Gjorgji Nachevski for the mentioned event”.

Ramon Gallegos response:

– The statement of this paragraph is false. I never created any conflict between the IHF and the EHF. My relationship with different counterparties in the EHF has been always excellent. The cooperation with the PRC member Dragan Nachevski is correct, we have worked together in so many IHF events in a very positive way. We may have some discrepancies in few aspects, like we may have with other PRC members, but nothing critical than can affect on the delivery of our work.

In December-2019 in Kumamoto the President asked for the nominations for the OQT and the OOGG-2020, I ask him to wait until the Men’s Euro in January-2020 to assess the performances of the referees, but his order was to deliver the list immediately. I gave him my proposal and I explained that the couples included in the list were mainly based in the referee’s ranking after the Men’s WCh 2019. The IHF President approved the proposal where the couple Nachevski- Nikolov was not included.

In the Men’s Euro 2020 the couple Nachevski-Nikolov made a good performance and whistled the final match. In February 2020 during the Council meeting in Cairo, both IHF and EHF Presidents asked me about this couple, I explained them the reason for their initial not nomination for the Olympic Games Qualifications Tournaments, but because of their good performance in the Euro, they would be added to the long list of possible nominees for Tokyo. Finally both competition the OGQT OOGG were postponed to 2021.

I never apologize for any unproper behavior, because this never happened and I didn’t have to apologize for anything.

Ramon Gallego sa tidigare under veckan upp sig från IHF med omedelbar verkan. Anledningen? En protest mot IHF-presidenten Hassan Moustafa. IHF har nu svarat med ett uttalande på deras hemsida och Handbollskanalen har i sin tur varit i kontakt med Ramon Gallego som svarar på IHF:s uttalande.

Ni känner säkert till historien vid det här laget. Ramon Gallego, en respekterad IHF-topp på domarsidan, sa upp sig från sitt jobb som en protest mot Hassan Moustafa och IHF-presidentens ständiga inblandning i Gallegos arbete.

Efter att Sverige besegrade Egypten i VM 2021 tyckte Moustafa, trots att han saknade stöd i IHF:s reglemente, att domare inte längre skulle få döma matcher där lag från samma region som de själva kommer ifrån var inblandade. Moustafa ville till exempel inte längre att norska domare skulle få döma Sveriges matcher, som fallet var i den svenska segermatchen mot Egypten.

IHF har nu kommit ut med ett uttalande där de kommenterar Gallegos inledande uttalande. En av sakerna IHF tar upp är att anledningen till att de inte vill att norska domare ska döma Sveriges matcher är att de vill skydda domarna från kritik som skulle kunna anklaga domarna för att vara partiska.

IHF skriver också att de påpekade till Gallego flera gånger att han inte fick utse domare från samma region som en av länderna som spelade, men att han ignorerat det helt och hållet. IHF skriver på sin hemsida att beslutet att utse norska domare till matchen mellan Sverige och Egypten kritiserades av både allmänheten och media.

IHF skriver:

”In his capacity as Chairman of the Executive Committee, IHF President Dr Hassan Moustafa informed and advised the PRC Chairman on several occasions not to engage referee couples from the same regions to officiate matches of the teams concerned, aiming not only to guarantee neutrality (despite the IHF’s trust in the neutrality of all IHF referees), but also to avoid any criticism, complaints or arguments for the referees and/or the IHF”.

Ramon Gallegos svar:

– IHF is confirming the criteria that I wrote as unacceptable in my letter, that makes that any kind non-sporting criteria can influence in nominations. The affirmation that the IHF trust the neutrality of all IHF referees is contradictory with the other statement that there will be additional limitations for nominations. These additional limitation in only giving the message that the referees could be not neutral in all cases.

Moreover, the concept “region” doesn’t exist in the IHF Regulations. Accepting this criterion would be the recognition that the IHF referees are not neutral and whistle in favor of the team with their same region. We could say the same for the criteria of language. The language of the teams vs the native language of the referees can’t never be an excluding reason for a nomination. Would be also the language of the coaches, players, team officials etc. another reason for this exclusion? The common sense says no.

The IHF referees are honest and independent, they are only judges and nobody can put it in doubt. They should be allowed to whistle any kind of matches/teams except when his own national team is playing. In the Men’s World Championship EGY2021 there were no spectators, just the IHF guests and some voluntaries, then no sense to speak about the high critics of the public.

I believe that the complaint of the President of a national federation cannot be the reason to challenge the referee’s honesty. This door should be closed forever. If the IHF President considers the complaint from a related party of a match, is putting in danger the overall concept of referee’s integrity. Under that criteria every team losing a match would have an opportunity to influence in future referee’s nominations.

In the same WCh EGY2021, there were more “regional nominations” or for referees with the same language of any of the teams, i.e. couples from Europe, America, Africa and Asia were refereeing matches for the same “region”, and nobody made any complaint. Nobody doubted the referee’s performances. It looks like that the only relevant match was SWE-EGY.

IHF skriver: 

”In the finals of major IHF events, the PRC Chairman used to consult with the COC Chairman on the nomination of the referees. However, at the 2021 IHF Men’s World Championship in Egypt, the PRC Chairman decided, without any consultation, to appoint the Spanish referee couple to officiate the final match”.

Ramon Gallegos svar:

– In the 1st paragraph of the IHF statement, it is written that the PRC Chairman is free to appoint the referee couples for the respective matches of the IHF events concerned.

This statement regarding the COC Chairman is a bit odd, because he was not present at the World Ch EGY2021, because he was sick at home. Despite this fact, he was nominating the IHF Technical Delegates from home every day, and the referee’s nominations were shared also daily with him in the same document, to be sent together to the IHF Office staff for publication. This happened every day, including the nomination for the final day. Then this IHF statement is totally false. Since the day of the match SWE-EGY I informed every day to the President of the nominations, including the final weekend.

For the final day the two couples from CRO and ESP were pre-nominated for the gold and bronze matches, and the final decision would be depending on the teams concerned due to ESP was one of the teams qualified for semifinals.

”Additionally, the PRC Chairman created a constant conflict with the European Handball Federation (EHF), which forced both IHF and EHF to convene mutual meetings to resolve the issues through mediation by their Presidents. Due to the PRC Chairman’s differences with IHF PRC Member Dragan Nachevski, the PRC Chairman did not consider top-level IHF referee Gjorgji Nachevski (Dragan Nachevski’s son) in his initial referee nominations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Afterwards, the PRC Chairman apologized for his inappropriate behavior and nominated Gjorgji Nachevski for the mentioned event”.

Ramon Gallegos svar:

– The statement of this paragraph is false. I never created any conflict between the IHF and the EHF. My relationship with different counterparties in the EHF has been always excellent. The cooperation with the PRC member Dragan Nachevski is correct, we have worked together in so many IHF events in a very positive way. We may have some discrepancies in few aspects, like we may have with other PRC members, but nothing critical than can affect on the delivery of our work.

Avslöjar: Ny regel vid skott i huvudet redan nästa säsong

Flera målvakter har drabbats av hjärnskakningar under säsongen. Nu agerar Svenska handbollförbundet – nästa säsong kommer skott i huvudet att innebära utvisning direkt.
– Regeln kommer över hela världen om ett år, men vi har haft så mycket problematik med hjärnskakningar i Sverige att vi vill införa regeln redan nu, säger SHF:s generalsekreterare Robert Wedberg till Handbollskanalen.

Redan i oktober gick IHF ut med information om tre nya regler som ska införas säsongen 2022-23 och där flera nationer runt om i världen ska agera testländer under nästa säsong. Sverige var inte med på den listan, men enligt uppgifter till Handbollskanalen har SHF ansökt till IHF om att få vara med.

– Det stämmer. Vi har inte fått frågan av IHF men utan vi har frågat om vi får vara med. Vi kommer inte att testa de andra reglerna utan enbart den här eftersom den är mest angelägen för oss. IHF har godkänt detta, bekräftar Wedberg.

Regeln SHF vill testköra nästa säsong gäller alltså vid skott i huvudet på målvakter. Den nya regeln ser ut så här:

  • Tvåminutersutvisning vid skott i huvudet på målvakten från ett straffkast
  • Tvåminutersutvisning vid skott i huvudet på målvakten när bollen är i spel
  • Undantag är om spelaren som avlossar skott är i obalans på grund av knuff eller smäll från försvarsspelare

Under året tvingades flera målvakter att att avbryta säsongen i förtid på grund av hjärnskakningar efter skott i huvudet. Det får SHF att agera.

– Det är klart att det har påverkat, det är inget snack om saken. Det är väldigt tråkigt att så många individer har tvingats till ganska långa avbrott. Det har ju påverkat en hel del lag ganska kraftigt. Skador förekommer så klart, men här har det varit påtagligt, säger Wedberg och avslutar.

– Det har varit stor enlighet bland domarkommitté och får styrelsen. Det finns bara fördelar med att vi är tidigt på det här, framförallt eftersom det med all säkerhet ändå kommer att införas nästa år. Det är mycket bättre att vara proaktiv.

SHF:s domarkommitté säger så här i ett pressmeddelande:

”Den under säsongen uppkomna situationen med flera målvaktsskador har oroat oss och därför tog vi det här initiativet och det är mycket glädjande att vi nu får möjlighet att testa regeln redan kommande säsong. Syftet är att försöka skydda målvakterna ytterligare. Vi arbetar med att ta fram text och material och kommer att publicera regeln i sin helhet med förklaringar i slutet av sommaren.”

Den nya regeln kommer att införas i SHE, Handbollsligan, Allsvenskan samt från åttondelsfinalerna i Svenska cupen.

Mathias Møller nästa nyförvärv i Alingsås

Alingsås HK förstärker sin danska satsning inför nästa säsong. Mathias Møller kommer närmast från Nordsjälland till en central position på nio meter.

Alingsås femte värvning till 2021/22 har fyra års erfarenhet av elitspel i danska klubbar.

Karriären byter spår när han får börja bekanta sig med Handbollsligan.

– Det känns väldigt spännande. Jag har spelat i Danmark hela min karriär så det blir en kul omställning att komma till ett annat land och spela med andra spelare, säger han till klubbens hemsida.

Møller har också 65 U-landskamper på meritlistan och är klar för två säsonger i AHK. En av hans kedjekamrater är landsmannen Mathias Mark Pedersen.

– Vi har letat efter en spelare som kommer att passa in i vårt spel samt ha utvecklingspotential. Vi sökte en niometare som skulle kunna bidra med att styra spelet, göra andra bättre samt vara en målskytt. I Mathias tycker vi att vi har hittat denna spelare, säger tränaren Mikael Franzén till klubbsajten om det senaste tillskottet.

Rhein-Neckar Löwen har tappat tråden och är avhakat från tätstriden i Bundesliga. Tabelltrean kan fortfarande göra livet surt för SG Flensburg-Handewitt som har betydligt högre ambitioner i slutspurten.

Flensburg har både hemmafördel och betydligt bättre form inför torsdagens stjärnmöte. Bara tre dagar har gått sedan urladdningen med 36–20 över MT Melsungen, RNL på besök är solklart veckans match och en kväll som Flensburg fokuserat på länge för att inte tappa mark till THW Kiel.

Rhein-Neckar Löwen har tunga majsiffror med tre raka förluster i ligaspelet. Senast blev det dock seger och laget knep tredjeplatsen i European League före Wisla Plock.

I höstas (13 december) delade lagen på poängen, 31–31. Gott om formstarka svenskar är en annan betydelsefull ingrediens för TV-matchen, Jim Gottfridsson har 25 mål i formraden men Jerry Tollbring är ännu bättre igång med 35 fullträffar.
