Source confirms: Match fixed in the Champions League

As Handbollskanalen has revealed, a match in the EHF Champions League Men this season has been fixed, motivated by gambling. Handbollskanalen has been in contact with another source who is a renowned expert in this industry. The source, who wishes to remain anonymous, confirms Handbollskanalen’s information.

As reported yesterday, two credible and independent sources have told Handbollskanalen that a number of matches in European handball have been fixed this season.

One of the matches was played in the men’s Champions League last autumn and there were at least 19 situations during the match which were unusual and inconsistent with what handball at the highest level usually looks like. In addition, the odds movements shortly before throw-off were irregular, suggesting that the changes from high odds to low odds on a team were larger than usual.

Now another source for Handbollskanalen, a person who is an expert and professional at an international level in this field, confirms that the match was definitely fixed.

Handbollskanalen has also revealed that a Swedish club team has reported a match played earlier this season for suspected match-fixing. The report is currently being dealt with by the European Handball Federation (EHF), but the Swedish club has not yet heard anything regarding how they will act. Our source confirms that this match was also fixed.

These cases of match-fixing are not the first and definitely not the last in handball. In a series of articles, Handbollskanalen will detail how the various unions and players work to prevent match-fixing.
