Soroti i Uganda kan se fram emot en ny handbollsplan i slutet av januari.
Det är Kawowo Sports som rapporterar om bygget av en ny handbollsplan i Soroti i östra/centrala Uganda. Planen finansieras av Norges handbollsförbund genom ‘Right to Play’.
Rodrick Muhumuza från Ugandas handbollsförbund säger:
”We are so far impressed by the current work been undertaken on the Asphalt handball court in Soroti. We are glad for the Norwegian Handball Federation. We believe by the end of January 2017, all the works will have been completed.”
Handboll spelas vid nio skolor i Soroti som är en stad med 50 000 invånare. Simon Opolot är handbollskoordinator i kommunen och säger:
”Construction of the modern handball court is a big step forward towards the development of handball from the grassroots in the Eastern region of Uganda especially Soroti and Uganda as a whole. I thank the Norwegian Handball Federation, Uganda Handball Federation and the Right to Play group together with the other key stake holders in this project.”
Right to play grundades 2000 av Johann Olav Koss, den norske skridskolegendaren. Projektet i Uganda har fått besök av både Robert Hedin och Thorir Hergeirsson som hjälpt till med träningar och instruktioner.
