Det Asiatiska Handbollförbundet låter meddela att det kommande U19-mästerskapet för herrar skiftar värdnation.
Den 3-14 september spelas Asian Men’s Youth (U19) Handball Championship, alltså U19-mästerskapet i Asien för herrar. Det var sedan tidigare planerat att arrangeras i Shiraz i Iran men nu meddelar förbundet att det flyttas efter att en majoritet av deltagande nationer vägrat åka till Iran.
I ett officiellt statement skriver förbundet:
”This decision to transfer the hosting rights of the championship to the Jordan Handball Federation (JHF) has been made after a thorough review of the current situation and safety concerns in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The AHF Executive Committee prioritized the safety and well-being of all participants, including players, officials, and fans, in making this decision.
The JHF has graciously accepted the responsibility of hosting the championship on short notice and is committed to ensuring the successful execution of the event.”
Sydkorea är regerande mästare i U19-klassen – återstår att se om de kan försvara titeln.
