I slutet av matchen mellan Kroatien och Vitryssland bestämde sig Kroatiens förbundskapten Lino Cervar för att ta tag i en vitrysk spelare. Nu har straffet från EHF kommit för Cervar – som får böter på 3000 euro.
Det pratades om att Cervar skulle kunna bli avstängd i en match eller rentav resten av turneringen. Det blev böter på 3000 euro för den kroatiske förbundskaptenen, varav 1000 euro villkoras tills turneringen är över.
EHF skriver så här i sitt utlåtande:
”The EHF Disciplinary Commission carefully examined and evaluated the EHF Supervisor’s report, the statement of the Croatian federation as well as the video of the incident. The Disciplinary Commission noted that the coach, while standing close to the side line, initiated a slight body contact with a player from the opposing team. The Disciplinary Commission emphasises that a coach of his calibre and experience should be well aware that no body contact, be it of a slight intensity, intentional or not, should be initiated with any of the opponents. The panel found his behaviour to be improper and unsportsmanlike conduct.”
Cervar får alltså straffet för olämpligt och osportsligt uppförande.
Nästa match för Kroatien är ikväll mot Norge. Till den matchen har man återinkallat Mirko Alilovic till truppen, något som enligt det danska handbollsoraklet Rasmus Boysen betyder att Domagoj Duvnjak har spelat färdigt i EM.
