London GD tar emot Thames i ett hett London-derby på söndag.
London GD är serieledare i England och tar emot rivalerna Thames i ett London-derby på söndag. Matchen spelas i OS-arenan Copper Box med avkast 14.30. Fri entré, så är ni i London kan ni passa på!
Då kan ni passa på att hålla ett extra öga på Maria Kourdoulos i Thames som nyligen blev uttagen i landslaget. De har tagit ut 28 spelare som kommer ha två läger i sommar, spela träningsmatcher i höst och siktar på att spela VM-kval senare i år.
Från England kan vi också rapportera att en ny klubb är uppstartad. Holcombe Hockey startar en handbollssektion i sin förening som är en av landets största inom landhockeyn. Ordföranden Jon Rye säger till England Handball:
”Holcombe Hockey Club has established a partner club to offer the sport of handball to its members, and the local community.
The exciting sport of handball has been on my radar since being at the London 2012 Organising Committee – and having introduced the sport to primary schools in Kent as part of a legacy programme.
Handball and hockey are sports that complement each other – two teams pitted against each other, moving the ball between team-mates around the playing area and working together to score in the opposition’s net.
Both are fast-paced and exciting to play, which will give our hockey club members, and the local community, something different to take part in over the summer period.
I hope that Holcombe Handball Club can become an established part of the sporting offer in Kent and Medway.”
