Veszprém förlorade första åttondelsfinalen borta mot Skjern med sju mål. Nu straffas spelarna och ledarna med minimilön under våren på grund avsvaga resultat.
Helgens förlust mot Skjern svider för Veszprém. De har nu sju mål att hämta upp och riskerar att sensationellt åka ur Champions League redan i åttondelsfinal. Oacceptabelt för klubbledningen.
Nu har det därför beslutats att alla ledare och spelare, inkluderat svenskarna Andreas Nilsson, Ljubomir Vranjes och Björn Sätherström, får sänkt lön under våren. De får gå på minimilön som bestraffning för de svaga resultaten under året. Det är en annan verklighet nere i Ungern.

Ltd. and its owners, Veszprém city moreover every sponsor of the team give all the moral and financial support in order to the team to play on the highest possible level in the domestic and international competitions in a worthy way to the traditions of the Club and the common goals.
Because of this, the Sport Association of Veszprémi Építők and Veszprém Handball Team Co. Ltd. feels that some result of the team of Telekom Veszprém were unacceptable this season, especially were the performances and the attitude. This is unworthy for the traditions of a Club that is more than 40 years old, and offends anyone who contributed and still contributes in the history of this Club building towards bigger and bigger successes, hence making our name well known throughout Europe.
Considering the above mentioned facts, the Club and the Company behind the team decided to suspend the salaries above minimal wage for the first team and coaching staff of Telekom Veszprém until the end of the Hungarian championship. The Club and the Co. Ltd. will make their final decision regarding this matter according to the team’s performance in the upcoming games.”
