Den 6 maj spelas cupfinalerna i England på dam- och herrsidan, matcher som kommer sändas av BBC.
Det är ett stort lyft för handbollen i England som sedan OS 2012 haft fin tillväxt. Nu har BBC säkrat cupfinalerna som spelas den 6 maj i Derby Arena.
– Live-streaming the National Cup finals on the BBC Sport website and connected TV’s will take handball to an even bigger audience and is a significant milestone for the sport, säger David Meli som är CEO hos England Handball till förbundets hemsida.
– We’re delighted to be able to reach this agreement with the BBC to enable more people to watch what we’re sure will be two great finals and to enjoy our exciting, high scoring, action packed team sport.
Tidigare har matcher sänts på YouTube men nu blir det alltså helproffsigt och mycket tillgängligt. Som Meli säger, en milstople i den engelska handbollshistorien.
Cupfinalerna spelas enligt följande:
14.00 Coventry Sharks – London GD
16.30 NEM Hawks – London FD
